Ring- a-ring roses

It was really a tiresome day after lots of guests coming in, cooking, chatting and cleaning. It was a fun day though. My husband and I were about to fall asleep in the night and got tucked in our bedding. My little one was jumping around then with full enthusiasm and energy. She walked towards us with her tiny toes and said "Hush-ah, Push-ah, fall down" keeping her hands wide open. She was like a ray of sunlight. We were too tired and told her to continue playing. She did not give up. She became more energetic and more demanding. Initially we got irriated, but couldn't help joining her for a 'ring-a-ring roses' with hands open and eyes still closed. We joined her and sang for a couple of minutes. Slowly our eyes opened as we sang. What a beautiful smile on her face? It was infectious. She jumped with joy and made us sing a couple of more rhymes. I told myself "She is a joy to behold". The tiredness in us slept for a while and an enthusiasm to join her grew in us. She jumped over us, kissed us and clapped her hands happily. After a couple of minutes she dozed off and so did we. Remembering her happy face made me smile a couple of times in my sleep. Of course, it was a comprise from our side, but were showered with a gift of seeing her happy and in turn being happy.

If only, we had not participated, she would have cried, irritaed us, slept crying and crying. Sometimes I end up feeling guilty in such instances. It was a different scenario now. We stepped out from our comfort zone (sleep in this case), gave her a little attention and experienced 'happiness quotient' as a compliment.

How good it would be if we could pay a small prize to feel 'big happy'?
